Tankless Hot Water HeatersAlthough its not heating your house…don’t forget the hot water heater. We specialize in the installation of tankless hot water heaters. A tankless hot water heater can save you 100’s of dollars a year in your energy consumption. Tankless hot water heaters do not turn on until a hot water spigot is turned on. The rest of the time the heater does not run. Old school tank heaters must maintain hot water 24/7…even if you don’t use it!
Tankless hot water heaters will provide endless hot water only at the time when you need it.
Ask us about what strategies we can use in your home to help save oil. One way is to install a “cold start” boiler. These boilers do not have a domestic hot water coil inside. A cold start boiler will not turn on until there is a call for heat…..this saves oil. Some other strategies include using new fuel saving boiler controls, installing a separate indirect hot water heater or upgrading your current boiler with a new high efficiency burner.

Air to AirLike your refrigerator, heat pumps use electricity to pump refrigerant and transfer heat from one space to another. When we transfer heat from within our home to the outside, we call it “air conditioning”. When we transfer heat from the outdoors to within the home we call it a “heat pump”.
Because refrigerant is naturally much colder than outdoor temperatures even on a very cold day, it actually absorbs heat from outdoors and transfers the heat it absorbed outside to within your home. The refrigerants physical properties do this naturally. What you pay for is the electricity to pump refrigerant via copper tubing from outdoors to indoors. Because we move the heat rather than create it (as in electric baseboard or heat strips), we can deliver up to 4 times the heat for the energy consumed.

R22 refrigerant is being phased outThe refrigerant R22 has been found to be destroying the ozone layer. Careful measures in handling this material have been in place for several years and the refrigerant is not being made anymore. Many of the existing air conditioning/heat pump systems currently run with R22 as the refrigerant. We strongly encourage our customers to replace their systems with the new earth friendly refrigerant systems. The cost of R22 has been rising rapidly and the availability of the refrigerant in the very near future looks bleak. We feel it would not be wise to install or make major repairs to a unit that we might not be able to service in the very near future.
It is very important with any heating or cooling job is to understand the entire system. There are times when the solution to solving a heating or cooling problem can be found somewhere other than the boiler or air conditioning unit itself. It can be problems with controls, near boiler piping, fans or the way the heat is being delivered to the home through the radiation or ductwork.
